Guidelines

With penetration of mobile devices approaching 90 percent among U.S. adults, and with access available all the time, the term “mobile” literally means “not in one place.”  Mobile consumers can always be reached no matter their location or the time of day. Their devices are often part of their identity.  They personalize and accessorize them.  There’s an increased intimacy with the device, the conversations held on them and the interactivity.  Mobile devices become part of a person.  Sharing mobile devices for an extended time is not common.  Therefore a level of trust needs to be conveyed when developing mobile advertising.

 

BEST PRACTICES

  • Use a powerful phrase with a short, concise message
  • Use the right words – words with a purpose
  • Clearly identify the benefit of clicking on the ad
  • Use interactivity when possible (see below)
  • Use bright or vivid colors for backgrounds and images
  • Mobile ads should link to a mobile landing page with the offer, not to a Web site
